Philip Hodson

Educated at Wakefield Grammar School and Cambridge, I developed the family insurance brokerage from 2 to 300 staff by 2003, whereupon I then reversed the business into the embryonic Oval Group, which built a workforce of 1,300 people and turnover of £400 million, before selling to Arthur J Gallagher in 2014.

I am a family man with two sons and a keen sportsman, playing cricket for Cambridge, Yorkshire County Cricket Club and the MCC and also rugby for Western Transvaal.

In more recent times, I have held many sporting administrative roles, including being President of the MCC in 2011/12.

I am Chairman and investor of the UKGlobal business via the Hodson Family Trust.
